Every year, Lawndale Art Center has a fundraiser art show around the time of Day of the Dead. Participating artists use an 8″x10″ sheet of tin as a base for their take on a retablo, or altar. This year, I wanted to use a transfer of a portrait on my tin. Ronnie Cabrera-Moreno was kind enough to model and do the body paint on herself for a series of images we captured in studio, some of which are shown here. I’ve also included a shot of the finished retablo that sold at the silent auction at Lawndale.
